Abstract： Frequency effects have been one of important factors to influence SLA. The study aimed to explore the relationship between frequency effects and Chinese-English translation. During a period of 4 weeks, thirty-four subjects translated the same Chinese passage into English four times, and then these four translation scripts were compared. Within 3 times, repeated practice could promote the achievement of Chinese-English translation script, but in the fourth practice, there was no any improvement. Within 3 times, the subjects made changes in their translation scripts concerning the content, vocabulary and grammar. Moreover, the majority of the subjects thought positively of frequency effects on Chinese-English translation and believed repeated practice was conducive to the quality of translation. But as the practice frequency increased, the scope of their progress became smaller and smaller, the subjects gradually adjusted their attention resources from language content to form, and more and more subjects became negative in attitude and did not believe repeated practice could produce any desirable effects. The results of the study had proved positive role of frequency effects and its limitations in Chinese-English translation, enriched the theories of frequency effects in SLA, and can provide some implications for teaching Chinese-English translation and ease students'academic burdens.
